Udaipur Dominated State Strength Lifting

Rajasthan State Level Strength Lifting Championship concluded today at Udaipur’s Luv Kush Indoor Stadium with several contestants from Udaipur bagging several top positions. It was the 18th Senior and Master competition and saw the participation of more than 100 athletes from all over the state consisted of 11 teams.

 

Udaipur Dominated State Strength Lifting

Rajasthan State Level Strength Lifting Championship concluded today at Udaipur’s Luv Kush Indoor Stadium with several contestants from Udaipur bagging several top positions. It was the 18th Senior and Master competition and saw the participation of more than 100 athletes from all over the state consisted of 11 teams.

The Champion of Champions Rajasthan Award was presented to Sumit Paneri of Udaipur who was in the 55-60 kg category and lifted 650 kg while the best athlete of Rajasthan was awarded to Govind Prajapat, another contestant from Udaipur, who lifted 765kg in the 66-72kg weight category.

Udaipur’s dominance continued in the contest with Nirmit Audhicya winning the under 50kg and Mohammad Ishtiyaq bagging the top position in the 72-80 kg category. Shekhar Sharma, also from the city, succeeded in securing first position in the 50-55 kg category.

While Lalit Gotania from Kota secured 1st position in the 90-100 kg category, both Chen Singh in the 100-110 kg category and Paramjeet Singh in the 110-120kg retained Udaipur’s position by knocking out their competition.

The strength of participants was judged by a total of three exercises: inclined bench, two-handed culling and hack lift.

Chief Guests of the program were Shantilal, former President of Vidhan Sabha, Dinesh Bhatt, District President (BJP), Prem Singh Shaktawat of Udaipur Municipal Council, Kailash Chouhan, Chairman of the selection committee of Rajasthan Wrestling Association and Pradeep Kumawat of Alok Sansthan. The competition was held under the leadership of Chandresh Soni, chief secretary of Strength Lifting Association.
