Akshay Kumar returns with another comedy entertainer in Welcome to the Jungle. Read our complete review to find out whether the latest installment of the popular franchise lives up to expectations.
June 27, 2026: The Welcome franchise returns with its third instalment, Welcome to the Jungle, aiming to entertain audiences with grand comedy, action, and a massive ensemble cast. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film brings together some of Bollywood's biggest comedy stars, led by Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, and many more. While the film does not focus much on logic, it succeeds in delivering an entertaining experience filled with jokes, chaos, and nostalgia.
Story Keeps the Comedy Going Despite a Predictable Plot
The film follows a group of unusual characters who become part of a movie project that eventually leads them into a dangerous mission near the India-Pakistan border. What starts as a comedy set quickly turns into an adventure involving terrorists, misunderstandings, and nonstop confusion. The story is simple and predictable, but the screenplay focuses more on creating funny moments than delivering unexpected twists.
The first half takes some time to build momentum, but once the main characters come together, the comedy improves. The second half offers faster pacing, more entertaining situations, and several scenes that keep the audience engaged until the end.

Performances and Comedy Are the Film's Biggest Strengths
Akshay Kumar once again proves why he remains one of Bollywood's finest comedy actors. His comic timing, expressions, and screen presence carry many of the film's funniest moments. Suniel Shetty and Arshad Warsi provide solid support, while Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav add their trademark humour.
Johnny Lever once again reminds audiences why he is considered one of India's greatest comedians. Farida Jalal also delivers one of the film's most memorable performances with excellent comic timing. The supporting cast contributes well, although a few talented actors receive limited screen time because of the film's huge ensemble.
The female cast, including Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, and Lara Dutta, perform their roles well, but the script does not give them enough opportunities to leave a lasting impact.
Direction, Music and Final Verdict
Ahmed Khan handles a cast of more than 30 actors reasonably well, ensuring that the film rarely feels confusing despite its large number of characters. The production values are impressive, and the action scenes blend well with the comedy. However, some scenes feel stretched, and a few jokes become repetitive. The music is average, with only a couple of songs standing out.
Overall, Welcome to the Jungle is made purely for audiences looking for light-hearted entertainment. It does not try to be a serious or realistic film. Instead, it focuses on laughter, family entertainment, and nostalgic moments from the Welcome franchise. If you enjoy slapstick comedy, colourful characters, and a fast-paced entertainer without expecting too much logic, the film is worth watching. It may not reach the standard of the earlier Welcome films, but it still offers enough fun to keep comedy lovers entertained.
