After initiating many innovating ideas and projects in the city, Udaipur Administration is now planning to move towards the villages. Lake Jaisamand and adjoining villages will be taken on priority with a vision of developing rural tourism.

It was always seen that when tourists come to Udaipur, they need a peaceful place to stay & explore, such a place which is away from pollution, noise and crowd.

Jaisamand village is a beautiful area near Udaipur, though not much activities related to tourism were carried out by administration there yet. Now the area will be made more beautiful and developed for tourists, to go there and stay, whilst a visit to Udaipur.

The main source of earning of the people in that area is fishing, along with offering a boat ride to the tourists who visit.

“Very soon the development activities will start, which includes providing raw materials to the villagers, making Wooden Camping huts and arranging new boats etc,” said District Collector, Ashutosh Pednekar.

Pednekar further added that, “Along with the development of tourism, we also want development of the locals of the area. Moreover, the people of the area are also having a scene of tourism as they were running small boat rides in the lake from a long time, keeping that in mind in spite of contacting the private hoteliers, we are motivating the villagers for it.”

The teams of experts started visiting the areas especially near the lake, where the process of cleaning, painting and building non-permanent structures (Hut houses) will start soon, which will change the look of the whole area.
