Udaipur, April 10, 2025 – The hurdle of the required power supply in the operation of the proposed Udaipur-Ahmedabad route of the Vande Bharat train has now been resolved.
The issue arose because Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (AVVNL) was unable to supply the required electricity to the traction substation (TSS) built in Dungarpur. This was essential for operating the high-speed Vande Bharat on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad track.
However, on April 8 AVVNL set up the required connection to the Dungarpur TSS. With this development, uninterrupted operation of the Vande Bharat and several other trains on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad track will now be possible. With electricity now available at the Dungarpur TSS, the load on the railway lines will be reduced.
TSSs have been set up by the Indian Railways at Mavli, Chanderiya, Pandoli, Umarda and in Gujarat at Viravada and Vantda to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
