Jains Demonstrate outside collectorate
More than one thousand people marching from various areas of the city congregated outside District Collector’s office and laid ‘Dharna’ in order to put across their demand for justice, against the brutal attack on Jain Muni Prabal Sagar in Gujarat.
With brief addresses by various community leaders, memorandum in the name of President of India and Chief Minister of Gujarat was handed over to district authority. Many political leaders, social organizations and trade associations were also present to express their distress over the issue.
A mass rally was started from town hall and passed on through various areas of the city, before setting outside Collectorate. The protest was headed by Jain priest Acharya Sukumalnandi Maharaj.
Under the banner of Sakal Jain Samaj, the mass demonstration was attended by approximately 2000 people.
On this occasion Rajni Dangi, Chairperson UMC, Madhu Mehta, Zila Pramukh, Paras Shingvi, President Chamber of Commerce, Kiran Jain, Parshad Ward 17, Ganesh Daglia, President of Sarafa Association; Suresh Chittora, Jinendra Shastri, President of BJP Youth Front; Ashok Shah, Arun Shah, G.M Rajasthan Patrika, Shanti Lal Chaplot etc. were present in the rally and they all expressed their thoughts and asked the administrative officials to take strict action against the accused.
Immediate and strict action against the accused attacker is demanded by the community and a report must be presented in front of the community, for the all the incidence that happened with the Jain Saints in the past after a proper legal action and investigation.
At the end they mentioned that Government should make proper security arrangements at all the holy places of the Jain Community.
