T-24 Ustad gets acclimatized to Biological Park environment
T-24 USTAD, the male tiger of Ranthmbore, has completed 90 days stay here at Udaipur’s Sajjangarh Biological Park. In these three months wildlife conservators have noticed immense changes in the animals behavior. They say that he has become familiar with his new house unlike the older days.
According to the Chief Wildlife Conservator Rahul Bhatnagar the Tiger in his initial days of visit to Biological Park was more aggressive and stubborn. He used to stay behind bushes and long grass inside his cage and spend more of his time at his holding. But drastic changes have been noticed in him as he has become clam and well adopted to the environment of the park.
Bhatnagar also claimed that the Forest Department has successfully completed the Acclimatization process by helping him to adjust in the new environment and situations. Now Ustad ventures out of his holding to the display area for food and also does not react much even if somebody stands near his cage. Earlier, when he saw anyone approaching his cage, he roared on him to display anger and even jumped towards him.
Bhatnagar further said that the animal is in his good health and appears normal within last 90 days, the care takers weigh the left overs from Ustads meal to gauge the the amount of food consumed by him.
Prior to this a press conference was organized by the Forest Department 26th May in which information about the behavior and health of the tiger was given to media by the wildlife conservators and the observers.
The tiger T-24 was brought to Udaipur’s Biological park on 16th May from the Tiger Project of Ranthambore of Sawai Madhopur. Upon getting information of the tiger’s arrival at Udaipur a team consisting of Dr. Swarvan Singh Rathore Wildlife Veterinary Doctor (Jhodhpur) and other Veterans from Udaipur’s Veterinary hospital has made all arrangements, the Tiger arrived at the biological park at 11.30 pm where he was shifted inside the park in a pin drop silence.
