JEE Advanced 2026 Exam: Registration From April 23
More than 2.5 lakh students are eligible for JEE Advanced registration which starts from April 23 for exam scheduled for May 17; check IIT admission criteria and eligibility
April 22, 2026 - Starting Thursday (April 23), students who have qualified for JEE Advanced will now be able to register online for the JEE Advanced 2026 examination which will be conducted by IIT Roorkee on Sunday, May 17, 2026. The exam will be for admission to B.Tech, Integrated M.Tech and Dual Degree courses in 23 IIT institutions across the country. 2,50,182 students have qualified to appear for it following the announcement of the results by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Eligibility to the JEE Advanced exam includes passing in both the JEE Main 2026 exam and the Class 12 or equivalent in 2025 or 2026. Eligibility based on Class 12 Board percentage is also key. According to this criterion, students from General, OBC and EWS categories must secure an aggregate of 75% marks in Class 12. For SC and ST categories, an aggregate of 65% marks is required. If a student does not meet this percentage criterion, then it is mandatory to be included in the top 20 percentile of the respective category.
Students who have appeared for the CBSE Class 12 Board examination in 2026 are now awaiting their results.
Age criterion specify that candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2001. Five years age relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates.
