Special Campaigns Against Rising Cybercrime

Udaipur, January 10, 2025 - In a bid to curb the rising cybercrime and narcotics trade, the Rajasthan Police has launched a series of special initiatives aimed at creating awareness and ensuring stricter actions across the state.

The police launched a campaign against cybercrimes on January 2, 2025, which will run until January 25, 2025. As part of this initiative, awareness programs will be held on the 5th and 20th of every month to educate the public about cybercrime prevention.

Mobile Phone Recovery and Narcotics Campaigns

The police are also taking steps to recover stolen mobile phones and have directed the announcement of rewards for criminals under the IT Act.

In another major effort, the Rajasthan Police has started off a month-long campaign, beginning January 3, to combat the trafficking of narcotic substances. This initiative focuses on taking strict actions against narcotic smugglers and gangsters, with plans to identify and target those providing shelter to these criminals.

The Director General of Police of Rajasthan recently held a video conference with police officials from across the state to discuss the ongoing initiatives. The meeting included the Additional Director General of Police (Crime Branch), Traffic Police Commissioners of Jaipur and Jodhpur, Deputy Police Commissioners of Jaipur and Jodhpur, and all Police Superintendents. Special directives were given regarding the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), cybercrime issues, and technical services like telecommunication and technical support.

Other Key Directives

Additional directives include identifying locations around coaching institutes, schools, and colleges to prevent illegal sales, developing a work plan to resolve pending cases, and ensuring the proper handling of investigations. Furthermore, instructions were issued to ensure that charges are applied appropriately based on the FIR content, avoiding wrongful sections in cases.
